Low Income Housing Fund (LIHF)
As a national community development financial institution, the Low Income Housing Fund is a steward for capital invested in housing, childcare, workforce development, education and other community-building initiatives. LIHF fosters healthy communities by providing a bridge between private capital markets and low-income neighborhoods. LIHF encourages comprehensive strategies that address the diverse needs of people and communities. LIHF funds many community organizations that provide low-income housing. New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (NYSDHCR) is responsible for the supervision, maintenance and development of affordable low and moderate-income housing in New York State. Separate listings of family and senior citizen developments, arranged by county, are available on this web site. Member agencies provide safe, affordable housing for persons with limited income including persons who are formerly homeless, have mental or physical disabilities, are living with HIV/AIDS and/or have a history of substance abuse.
