SUPER BOWL BUILD: Volunteers Commemorate Super Bowl XLVIII by Rehabilitating Sandy-Damaged Homes with Habitat NYC
NFL Player Oday Aboushi and volunteers joined Habitat for Humanity NYC to tackle home repairs in Staten Island on Jan. 31. This special Superstorm Sandy rebuilding event was in collaboration with the NFL, with the support of the South Street Seaport, owned by The Howard Hughes Corporation.
This February, New Yorkers looking for love partnered with Habitat NYC for a day of fun and philanthropy to meet like-minded singles who have a passion for giving back, gain new skills and make a hands-on difference in the community.

Habitat NYC celebrated the homecoming of families displaced by Superstorm Sandy with a special "Home for the Holidays" ceremony, including cookies, hot chocolate and carols sung by students from Staten Island Academy.

Habitat for Humanity New York City is thrilled to have been a host of the 2013 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. We were honored to welcome volunteers from across the country and the world who renovated houses in Queens and repaired homes in Staten Island that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

SUPERSTORM SANDY ANNIVERSARY: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NEW YORK CITY HELPS 70TH FAMILY AFFECTED BY THE STORM
October 29, 2013 marks one year since Superstorm Sandy forever changed the lives of families throughout the Northeast. Habitat for Humanity New York City remains committed to helping Staten Island families complete their road to recovery and has helped more than 70 families with repairs, debris removal, painting and other construction projects.

Habitat for Humanity NYC held its 14th Annual Gala on Thursday, October 10 to commemorate 30 years of building with Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter.
Grammy Award winners and longtime Habitat for Humanity supporters Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood emceed the event, which included moving speeches by President Jimmy Carter, Rosalynn Carter, Habitat for Humanity New York City CEO Neil Hetherington and Habitat NYC homeowner Yvette Pompey. Held at Cipriani Wall Street, the event was attended by more than 500 guests.
Two-time Tony Award winner Michael A. Alden and Emily Bergl served as producers for the evening's entertainment, with musical direction by Jonathan Mastro and choreography by Mimi Lieber. Guests enjoyed performances by Brian Stokes Mitchell, Emily Bergl, Daniel Breaker, Sierra Boggess, Kate Shindle and the Harlem Gospel Choir.
